This event is the top-level table tennis competition for university students in China. The contestants in this game are all from schools that have won the top two places in the National College Table Tennis Championship or are athletes who have won the top eight in the National Table Tennis Championship in recent two years. The team and singles champions will represent China in the FISU World University Games to be held in Chengdu in July. For finishing second in the team competition, CUPL team was also qualified to represent China in the University International Sports Festival to be held in Russia in August this year. This will be the first time that CUPL team represents China's university table tennis team to participate in an international university sports event.
