Yuan Jiudang, Deputy Mayor of Tai’an City, Shandong Province and His Delegations Visit CUPL to Discuss Cooperation

In the afternoon of October 19, Yuan Jiudang, Deputy Mayor of Tai'an City in Shandong Province and his delegation visited CUPL to exchange views on the promotion of university-government cooperation. Shi Jianzhong, Vice President of CUPL, attended the event. Li Qingzhen, Director of the Office of CUPL Science Park, presided over the meeting.

At the outset, Vice President Shi welcomed to the People's Government of Tai’an City and the delegation on behalf of CUPL. He then briefed the delegation about CUPL, including its history, disciplines, “Double First-tier Initiative”, talent cultivation, scientific research and social service, etc. Yuan, on behalf of Tai'an City, appreciated that CUPL paid great attention to the meeting and complimented CUPL on academic achievements, cultivation of legal talents, etc. He said that Tai'an City always attached great importance to education, and gave priority to colleges, universities and scientific research. He hoped that the development of education, the cultivation of legal talents, and the rule of law, and the healthy and sustainable development of Tai’an City could be further advanced through exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.

Then, the two sides had an in-depth exchange of ideas on future cooperation. The two sides agreed to further the pragmatic university-government cooperation and to constantly broaden the scope of cooperation on the basis of mutual benefit and a win-win outcome for common development. They reached consensus on jointly sponsoring the University Science Park and launching tailored training programs. The meeting demonstrated the shared aspiration of the two sides for long-term and substantive cooperation.
