On October 19, the signing ceremony for a donation from Tahota Law Firm (Tahota) to China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) was held at the Haidian Campus, CUPL. Shen Zhijun, member of the Managing Group of Tahota and head of the Beijing Office, Feng Shiyong, Vice President of CUPL and Chair of the CUPL Education Foundation, lawyers of Tahota, heads of relevant administrative offices and schools of CUPL attended the signing ceremony. 1 million RMB donated by Tahota to CUPL will be used to set up the Tahota scholarship and grants for the School of Juris Master.
On behalf of the School of Juris Master, Dean Xu Shenjian delivered a speech. He briefed the participants on the School of Juris Master and the 2021 Master of Law students majoring in foreign-related legal services. He said that next year, CUPL would celebrate its 70th anniversary, and he hoped to join hands with Tahota, to contribute to the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents and the advancement of the rule of law.
Liu Ruzhong, consultant of the Managing Group of the Beijing Office, delivered a speech on behalf of Tahota. He thanked his alma mater and said that Tahota wished to contribute to the high-level, multi-faceted, and practice-oriented talent training mode of the School of Juris Master and to partner with CUPL for training more outstanding Master of Law students.
In the end, Feng Shiyong made a concluding speech. On behalf of CUPL and the Education Foundation, he expressed his heartfelt thanks to Tahota for the donation. He pointed out that the donation was made at an important moment as CUPL would soon celebrate its 70th birthday. He stressed that the donation demonstrated the social responsibility of Tahota. For CUPL, the donation meant more than financial resources. The donation would be viewed as empowerment for the cultivation of legal talents at CUPL.
