Sichuan Provincial Education Department Sends a Delegation for Tianfu Central Legal Service Zone

In the afternoon of March 18, the Education Department of Sichuan Province sent a delegation to CUPL for the in-depth discussions on Tianfu Central Legal Service Zone. Li Guogui, Deputy Council Chair of the Education Working Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and member of the Party Group of the Provincial Education Department, Peng Yi, Deputy Director-General of the Sichuan Provincial Education Department, and Li Ang, member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Chengdu Tianfu New District, and Council Chair of the Party Working Committee of Tianfu Headquarters Business District, led their delegation to attend the meeting. Vice President Feng Shiyong of CUPL, participated in the meeting, together with heads of relevant offices and schools. The meeting was moderated by Liu Jian, Director of the Domestic Cooperation Office of CUPL. During the meeting, the two parties carried out a positive discussion on the following matters, joint training base for graduate students, legal training, scientific research, secondment, business incubator, etc.

Vice President Feng pointed out that the Party and state leaders had attached great importance to the development of CUPL for years. For instance, the then Chinese leader Mr. Deng Xiaoping, awarded his own handwriting of the school’s name; on May 3, 2017, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected CUPL and delivered an important speech, in which he mentioned that “we should break down the system barriers between universities and the society so as to bring the high-quality resources from the society to our universities”. Vice President Feng said that the cooperation between the university and the Provincial Education Department of Sichuan on the Tianfu Central Legal Service Zone was conducive to achieving mutual benefits and win-win development for both parties, and to advancing the rule of law in China. Li Guogui expressed the hope to reach preliminary consensus, to promote the signing of provincial-school cooperation agreements, and to advance substantive cooperation for win-win results.
