On November 26, the lecture series “Latest International Hot Spot”, sponsored by the Office of the Student Affairs and School of Political Science and Public Administration, and organized by the International Political Science Forum and the Student Union of the School of Political Science and Public Administration, was held at the Changping Campus of CUPL. Cheng Yonghua, Vice President of China-Japan Friendship Association, member of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, former Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the PRC to Japan gave a distinguished lecture on “Sino-Japanese Relations against the Background of Centenary Changes” to faculty and students of CUPL. The lecture was moderated by Professor Li Qunying from the Department of International Political Science.
From Ambassador Cheng's diplomatic experience, CUPL students felt the unique charm of Chinese diplomats. During the interaction session, Cheng took questions from the students concerning the bilateral interactions between China and Japan during the COVID-19 pandemic. He then went on to introduce the diplomatic principle of China, i.e., maintaining world peace and promoting common development. The lecture was lively and interactive.
