On the afternoon of November 21, 2016, CUPL President Huang Jin met with the two-member delegation of Dame Barbara Woodward DCMG OBE, British ambassador to China, at the Changping Campus.
After the meeting, Dame Barbara Woodward gave a fantastic lecture with the title “Preparing for the 45th Anniversary of UK-China Bilateral Relations”, in which she first reviewed the history of cooperation between China and the UK in several fields including government, economy, trade and humanity. She also talked about the opportunities and challenges in future cooperation and emphasized the importance of deepening, advancing and strengthening bilateral relations. Afterwards, teachers and students from CUPL actively asked questions concerning the duties of ambassador, Brexit, the “Belt and Road Initiatives”, gender equality, terrorism and others topics. Prof. Gao Xiang, Dean of College of Comparative Law, CUPL, was the moderator of the lecture.
