On April 27, 2016, the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (CI at UB) successfully held its fourth board meeting. Chinese and Romanian board members attended the meeting. The discussions of the Board Meeting centered on the following matters: work review, future plan, strengths and development prospects of the CI at UB.
The board meeting was chaired by Prof. Luminita Balan, Romanian Co-Director of the CI at UB. Prof. Magdalena Platis, Vice President of UB and Prof. Li Shuguang, Dean of the Graduate School of CUPL, introduced the Romanian and the Chinese representatives and delivered addresses respectively. Both sides expressed their wishes for further cooperation.
Prof. Balan delivered a report on the work of the CI at UB from July 2015 to May 2016. Prof. DongJingbo, Chinese Co-Director, presented a work plan for the second half of 2016.
Board members spoke highly of the work of the CI at UB. They discussed and exchanged views on the work reports. Members believed that the CI should leverage its unique strengths and keep its development on the right track.
Finally, a group photo was taken of all the attendees to mark the cordial wishes and determination of both sides to further cooperation and improve development of the CI at UB.
Accompanied by the two Co-Directors, the CUPL delegates paid a visit to Mr. Deng Liming, Head of Education at the Chinese Embassy in Romania. They also toured the CI at UB to meet with students and volunteer teachers. At the same time, the delegates visited Prof. Favius A.Baias, Dean of the UB Law School, and Prof. Ionela Baluta, Dean of the UB School of Politics, to exchange views on jointly holding seminars.
