During the 2015 Lunar New Year holidays, a CCTV special program "2015 Spring Festival Gala of Choruses" debuted on CCTV music channel. A student chorus from our university,Cupler, was invited to sing three splendid but very different songs ( "All Things are Thriving", "Bang Bang", "Seasonsof Love”) in the program. Their wonderful songs not only extended their season’s greetings to every household in the country, but also demonstrated the elegant and graceful manners of CUPL students.
The "2015 Spring Festival Gala of Choruses" is a popular program sponsored by CCTV and staged by celebrities of show business to mark the upcoming Lunar New Year celebration period, and features more than 20 choruses from different regions. On its stage, well-known classical songs, classical music and pop songs were rearranged and performed in new ways, which offers a refreshing feast for the ears and eyes of the audience.
Cupler is an outstanding student chorus on our campus. Its performance style is a kind of "A cappella" (aqua Bella), similar to Glee’s "Broadway" style. In April of 2014,Cupler advanced all the way to the finals and was ultimately crowned the champion of the second season of“Song and Smile – Chorus Pioneer” hosted by the CCTV music channel. In October of the same year,Cupler took part in CCTV's "Eulogizing the Chinese Dream", a grand scale singing celebration that was recorded to mark the 65th birthday of New China.
