Romanian VIP Diplomat visits CUPL & Attends Its Ambassador Forum

On the morning of December 10, 2014, Mr. H.E. Costea Doru Romulus, Romanian Ambassador to China visited CUPL and attended its Ambassador Forum. Ms. Gao Huanyue, Deputy Secretary of CUPL Party Committee, on behalf of the university, warmly welcomed the Ambassador’s visit and accompanied him to tour the Romanian Culture Exhibition and the photo display to mark the 1st anniversary of the establishment of CI at UB on our campus.

Gao Huanyue expressed her heartfelt thanks for Ambassador Costea's generous help in facilitating the exchange between CUPL and Romania,especially his strong support in setting up CI at UB which was jointly created and operated by CUPL and the University of Bucharest. The Ambassador replied that it was his third visit to CUPL. According to him, "three" is an important number in Romanian culture, and his visit this time also signified triple great occasions: first, this year is the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Romania; second, this year also marks the 10th year of the creation of the friendly cooperative partnership between the two countries; and third, it is his first opportunity to enjoy the birthday of CI at UB. He was glad to personally experience the ongoing friendly collaboration between the universities from the two sides, and the smooth carrying out of various activities jointly sponsored by the two sides. Meanwhile, he promised that his Embassy will further promote better bilateral exchange and cooperation in even broader areas. Finally, he wished the celebration of the first birthday of CI at UB would be a complete success.

After the meeting, Ambassador Costea delivered a speech titled "65 Years of Diplomatic Relationship between Romania and China: Highlights for the 21st Century", hosted by Xue Xiaojian, the Chinese Co-Director of CI at UB, and conducted interactions with our teacher and student audiences.
