On the morning of December 8, 2014, Mr.William I. Brustein, PhD., Vice-Provost for Global Strategies & International Affairs of Ohio State University (Ohio State), Prof. Alan C. Michaels,Dean of Moritz College of Law at Ohio State, and two other delegates visited our Xueyuan Lu Campus. Vice-President Zhu Yong, on behalf of CUPL, met with the guests.

Zhu Yong spoke highly of CUPL and Ohio Sate’s past achievements and expressed his hope that the two sides could unleash their full cooperative potential on this basis. He explained that CUPL could send jointly cultivated doctoral candidates to further their studies at Ohio State under"the State-Sponsored Post-graduate Study Abroad Program for the Construction of High-level Universities", launch dual degree cooperation programs on the basis of existing LL.M. scholarship projects, and so on.

Mr. Brustein remarked that Ohio State currently has over 3, 500 enrolled Chinese students, and our students are the cream of the crop. He was amazed by the fact that two of the three CUPL students who acquired Ohio State LL.M.scholarship passed New York State’s Bar Exam at their first try. He also positively responded to Zhu Yong's proposals, expressing his willingness to accept our jointly cultivated doctoral candidates to further their research at Ohio State.

Then the two sides held an in-depth discussion on details like how to send the aforesaid jointly cultivated doctoral students to study at the counterpart’s campus, how to implement projects like an LL.M. dual degree, summer school, teacher exchange, etc. and came to initial agreements on all of them.

After the meeting, delegates of Ohio State conducted an informal interview for the 6 CUPL candidates who applied for its LL.M.scholarship.
