On the morning of December 6, 2013, vice president Zhu Yong met with Prof. Julie Forrester, dean ad interim of the school of law at SMU, Prof. Paul Rogers, the former dean and Ms. Lynn Bozalis, assistant dean.

Zhu Yong expressed his gratitude to the school of law at SMU for its efforts in providing the full Sohman Scholarship for CUPL outstanding students to study for the LL.M. degrees there year after year. He pointed out that this program enjoyed a high reputation among our students. And he hoped that CUPL and SMU could further expand their cooperation into certain areas like other scholarship programs and other exchanges, so as to create more opportunities for teachers and students on both sides.

Julie Forrester spoke highly of the five candidates that had attended the interviews in the morning. He strongly supported the thoughts and proposals of Zhu Yong and had a bright vision for future cooperation. He also hoped the two sides could collaborate more closely in the field of scholar and student exchanges.

During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged in-depth views on other specific issues, such as student exchange programs, the postgraduate program involving government-funded high level candidates, the mutual arrangement for each university to exchange teachers to deliver short-term lectures, and programs concerning LL.M. scholarship.
