In July 2013, the Third Deans’ Conference of Law Schools Global League was held in Lisbon, Portugal. Twenty five university delegations from Portugal, Spain, Italy, China, the United States and other countries attended the Meeting. During this session, CUPL was approved as the 26th member of the League.

The League was established at Tilburg University in the Netherlands in June 2012. It initially consisted of 17 leading law schools from all over the world. The addition of CUPL brings the League to a total of 26. The League was the first formal united organization of university Law Schools around the globe. University members have achieved closer multilateral cooperation in teaching and research through a variety of exchange programs conducted at multiple levels.

Tilburg University and CUPL formally established a cooperative relationship by signing a framework cooperation agreement in May 2012 during the special events held to mark the 60th anniversary of CUPL’s establishment. To date, both sides have successfully cooperated in areas such as academic and personnel exchanges, government funded overseas study for doctoral degrees and joint cultivation program, and an undergraduate exchange program, just to name a few.
