On the afternoon of January 15, 2013, Vice President Zhu Yong met with the Romanian ambassador to China Mr. Doru Costea and first secretary of the Mission Mr. Catalin Ioan.
On behalf of CUPL, Zhu Yong extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Costea and thanked him for being present at CUPL’s 2013 Banquet on January 11. The Ambassador said that it was his pleasure to learn of CUPL’s wide-ranging cooperation with overseas educational institutions and diplomatic organizations in Beijing. And he was also impressed by CUPL’s emphasis on international exchange. Ambassador Costea expressed his hope that CUPL will develop cooperative relationships with more Romanian universities in the future.
Zhu Yong thanked the Ambassador for his involvement in developing the relationship between CUPL and University of Bucharest (UB). He expressed his desire that, on the basis of the signed agreement, both sides would cooperate in certain fields, such as promoting scholar exchange, conducting cooperative research, and jointly applying for the Project of Confucius Institute, etc. Zhu Yong also expressed his hope that the Romanian Embassy could give more support and help to future cooperation between our university and UB.
