Five CUPL teams achieved performed well in the 2012 Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM). After three days of intense competition, the CUPL contestants won one national second prize, one first prize of the Beijing Division, and three awards for good participation.
This year, 21,219 teams participated in the competition. These teams were composed of over 60,000 undergraduate students, representing 1,284 colleges and universities from China (including HKSAR and Macao SAR), Singapore and the United States. In Beijing, there were at least 68 teams competing. There were over 1,300 teams competing against each other in the Undergraduate Group. Finally, only 90 teams were awarded a first- or second-place national prize.
