Five CUPL professors—Jiang Ping, Wu Changzhen, Zhang Jinfan, Chen Guangzhong and Pan Handian were awarded the title of Eminent National Jurists when the China Law Society recently commemorated the 30th anniversary of its reestablishment.
There were 25 law professors and experts in total winning this title. Zhou Yongkang, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee and the Secretary of the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of the CPC Central Committee, attended the commemoration meeting and awarded certificates to the Eminent National Jurists.
This is the first time Eminent National Jurists were selected by the organization since the founding of the People's Republic of China, and also an important event in the 30th anniversary celebrations for China Law Society's reestablishment.
