On May 25, 2012, the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) Business School and the Richard Ivey School of Business of the University of Western Ontario (UWO) held a press conference in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The two universities had previously signed a program cooperation agreement on the occasion of CUPL’s 60th anniversary celebration.
The two universities are first to jointly provide an EMBA program and EDP program in China. The aim of these programs is to “cultivate future leaders with the global vision and law-business expertise in the new era.” In China, these programs will emphasize case-study methods and international trade commercial practices—providing an exceptional opportunity for China’s business leaders. Dr. Amit Chakma, President of University of Western Ontario; Dr. Carol Stephenson, dean of the Ivey School of Business; and, Professor Sun Xuanzhong, Dean of the CUPL Business School Business and Director of MBA education center attended the press conference.
