From June 30 to July 7, the 2019 Summer Exchange Programbetween CUPLand Soochow University(SCU) in Taiwanwascarried out.The program this year was an 8-day study and visiteventin Beijing and Tai'an, Shandong.A total of25 teachers and students fromSCU took part inthis event.In the morning of July 1, the opening ceremony ofthe program washeld at the Xueyuanlu Campus, CUPL. Prof. Shi Jianzhong,Vice President of CUPL, Prof.Xu Lan, Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, DeputyDirector Wang Fuping, and teachers from the Law Department ofSCU Law School Wen Jingyi and Zhang Yonghan attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony wasmoderatedbyProf.Xu Lan.
In order toprovide teachers and students ofSCUwithacomprehensive and in-depthview of the development status of the mainland's economy, politics, culture, science and technology, etc., during the study and exchange in Beijing, the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairsof CUPLinvited3 scholarsof CUPLtogive lectures on China’scontemporary society, Chinese traditional culture and the legal issues of recourse of overseas cultural relics.In addition, the Office ofHong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs also arranged visits to the Beijing Internet Court, as well asface-to-faceexchanges and discussions with teachers and students from theLegalAidCenter of CUPL.
