China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) was bathed in the lush hues of spring as it successfully inaugurated its first-ever "Yulan Alumni Festival" and Homecoming Day events, marking a joyous reunion of past and present members of the CUPL community.
On the morning of May 18, the anticipation was palpable as volunteers from the Alumni Association and college-specific "Alumni Homecoming Reception Stations" prepared to welcome returning alumni with open arms.
The day's events were rich and varied. Nearly a hundred alumni participated in this year's CUPL Marathon, adding a lively scene to the campus. Volunteers from the Alumni Service Federation cheered on the participants. The art exhibition "Big Hands Hold Little Hands - Painting Our Home Together" and the "Getting to Know You" school history exhibition were bustling with activity. Alumni revisited familiar landmarks with "Meet at the Pioneer Ox!" The "Youth Memories - CUPL Food Bazaar," outdoor concerts by alumni and current students, the CUPL Alumni "Anniversary Cup" Football Invitational, the first "Anniversary Cup" Table Tennis Invitational by the Alumni Table Tennis Association, and cycling events organized by the Finance Alumni Association and Beijing Alumni Association added vibrant highlights to CUPL's 72nd anniversary celebration.
As the sun set on the 18th, the Changping Campus Auditorium was the epicenter of the first "Yulan Alumni Festival" and the annual Outstanding Alumni Awards Gala.
The event was attended by a distinguished gathering, including CUPL Council Chair Hu Ming; Vice Presidents Chang Baoguo and Li Xiuyun; Deputy Council Chairs Wang Liyan and Huang Ruiyu; and over a thousand alumni and representatives of outstanding alumni workers. Representatives from 36 alumni associations spanning North America, South Korea, Canada, and other regions; alumni from the classes of 1979 to 2023; teachers and students from the Shanxi "CUPL Class" Graduate Support Group; retired faculty and staff representatives; leaders of various university departments; college officials; faculty representatives; and student representatives were all present to celebrate.

At the onset of the ceremony, Li Xiuyun extended a warm welcome to all alumni, teachers, and students on behalf of CUPL. She expressed sincere gratitude to the alumni for their unwavering support and contributions to the university's development and paid tribute to the honored alumni.

The inaugural "Yulan Alumni Festival" and Homecoming Day events were supported by the university office, the Party Committee Communication Department, the Youth League Committee, the Logistics Support Office, the Network Security and Information Office, the Security Office, the Physical Education Department, the Retired Faculty Office, various colleges, and many alumni, alumni units, and social sectors. The Alumni Office is committed to providing exceptional services for alumni, seeking top-level support for the university, and making significant contributions to society. It aims to enhance alumni connections and build a "lifelong development community" that integrates alumni and the alma mater in a profound and enduring way.
