In the morning of March 24, the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and Belarusian State University (BSU) was held at the Haidian campus, CUPL. Prof. Ma Huaide, President of CUPL, and Король Андрей Дмитриевич, President of BSU, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. The ceremony was presided over by CUPL Vice President Shi Jianzhong.
On behalf of CUPL, President Ma Huaide extended a warm welcome to President Король Андрей Дмитриевич and his delegation. He then briefed the delegation on CUPL, including its history, disciplines, talent cultivation, academic research, social services as well as international exchanges and cooperation. He pointed out that, China and Belarus are getting closer with deeper mutual trust and more frequent interactions, which laid a solid foundation for the establishment of a cooperative relationship between the two universities. The signing of the cooperation agreement between the two universities is of great significance for both sides to actively step up strategic cooperation. He hoped that both sides would take this opportunity to advance bilateral cooperation and achieve mutual beneficial and win-win collaboration, with a view to contribute to talent cultivation and education innovation for both China and Belarus.
President Король Андрей Дмитриевич said that he was very honored to attend this signing ceremony. He introduced the history, education philosophy, achievements, and international cooperation of BSU. He said that the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two universities would facilitate exchange programs for teachers and students and would cement people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Belarus. He pointed out that BSU respects and recognizes the brilliant achievements that CUPL has obtained over the past 70 years. He also expressed confidence, that in the context of the recent meeting between the two heads of state, the diversified cooperation between the two universities is going to deliver fruitful results .
Representatives of both sides then signed the Memorandum of Understanding between China University of Political Science and Law and Belarusian State University.
Vice president Shi Jianzhong said that the signing ceremony marked the establishment of the formal partnership between the two universities. He also noted that the BSU delegation is the first foreign delegation as well as a new global partner that CUPL has received in the post-pandemic era. He hoped that the two sides could strengthen mutual learning and work together to write a new chapter in international education cooperation and development.
