On December 16, the 2020-2021 “CUPL Role Models” award ceremony was held in the auditorium at the Changping Campus of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). The ceremony was attended by Ma Huaide, President of CUPL, Feng Shiyong and Li Xiuyun, Vice Presidents of CUPL, Shi Baocang, Head of Changping District Armed Force Office, heads of relevant schools and administrative offices of CUPL as well as more than 500 students.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, next year will witness the 70th anniversary of the founding of CUPL, as President Ma Huaide pointed out, the award ceremony on this special occasion served not only to promote the morality of former role models, but also to draw strength to strive for progress. He said that the role models were a visible philosophy as they turn the meaning of life into vivid stories and students should let their great ideals, good characters, and noble personalities to be reflected by their practical actions.
Jia Yipeng, CUPL alumnus of Class 2000 and senior partner of Beijing Hylands Law Firm, pointed out that the law firm donated 5 million RMB to the Education Foundation of CUPL in June this year for its talent cultivation and scientific research, as well as the building of CUPL’s social practice center. He wished that CUPL would cultivate more talents for the country and create greater glories.
Li Xiuyun read out the decision of CUPL on recognizing the scholarship winners, merit students, excellent student leaders and advanced class collectives for the academic year of 2020-2021. Ma Huaide presented awards to 10 recipients of the Presidential Scholarship and took a group photo.
