On November 16 and 17, the third session of the Forum on Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) was held in Geneva, Switzerland. Representatives from the China Society for Human Rights Studies and the academia participated in the virtual meeting and delivered speeches, introducing China's experience and Chinese wisdom in the following fields: judicial protection, protection of female workers' rights and the rights of people with disabilities, and called on countries to respect each other and seek common ground while preserving differences from cultural, social, philosophical, and institutional aspects.
Wang Liwan and Xia Jianghao from the Institute for Human Rights of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) were invited to speak at the forum. Wang shared the practice of administrative litigation in China and hoped to discuss with people from all walks of life on how to achieve substantive justice through administrative litigation. Xia said, as the judicial system was greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Chinese courts had explored and taken measures to ensure the legal rights of litigants.
