In the morning of November 2, China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) convened a meeting to prepare for its 70th anniversary. Feng Shiyong, CUPL Vice President, heads of relative administrative offices, as well as staff of the Anniversary Event Office and working groups attended the meeting.
During the meeting, heads of anniversary preparation working groups reported their progress and work plans. The attendees then exchanged views on matters, including the celebration events, academic series, the gala, alumni service, security, logistics, volunteer recruitment, fundraising, and communication among working groups.
Vice President Feng affirmed the preparation at the stage, and put forward four requirements for the next phase: First, the working groups should actively optimize the anniversary programme on the basis of past experience and research, and tailor the programme with CUPL features and discipline highlights. Second, the working groups should fulfill respective obligations and maintain close communication and coordination. Third, the Anniversary Event Office should ensure coordination and resource mobilization for the preparation working groups to deliver expected outcomes. Fourth, the fundraising group should step up efforts to raise more funding and the other working groups should control costs and expenditures.
Vice President Feng stressed that students, faculty, staff, alumni and all sectors of society were looking forward to the 70th Anniversary of CUPL. Taking the celebration as an opportunity, CUPL would review its glorious history over the past 70 years, including its mission, culture, and traditions. He expected the celebration will inject more impetus for the development of CUPL in the future.
