Sponsored by the National Committee of China Education, Science, Health and Sports Union, China Table Tennis Association and China Worker Development Foundation, and organized by the Hunan Provincial Education Union, the 2021 National Table Tennis Competition for Workers and Staff of Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports System was held in Changsha from June 1 to 4. A total of 358 athletes and 35 teams from various provinces and cities participated in the competition. Wang Kun, a teacher from the Civil, Commercial and Economic Law School, China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), participated in the competition on behalf of the Beijing Education Union and won the women's singles championship.
The competition was covered by CCTV, and Wang Kun was interviewed by CCTV Sports News after the competition. In the interview, Wang Kun said that despite the psychological pressure at the beginning of the match, she was generally satisfied with her performance as she made a positive adjustments and played to her strengths in the final round. Speaking of the experience she gained in the competition, Wang said that instead of worrying about the results, what's truly important for athletes is enjoying the game.
