On October 15, 2020, Shanghai Ranking, a specialized organization dedicated to research on higher education intelligence and consultation, published “China’s Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020”. The list includes 96 first-class subjects. 109 universities are listed in the Law discipline list. CUPL, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, and Southwest University of Political Science & Law are among the top 2%. CUPL came first place with 1131 points. All supporting data for the ranking were collected from authoritative third parties, such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Natural Science Foundation Committee, international and domestic bibliographic data base, etc. Points of each subject were then calculated through standardized data cleaning and discipline classification.
