In the afternoon of March 11, 2019, at the Haidian Campus, Vice President Ma Huaide met with Krasae Chanawongse, Rector of Krirk University (KRU) and his delegation, including Wang Ming, President of the Management Committee of KRU, Zhao Nan, Assistant Rector and Zhou Ruimin, Director of Chinese Affair Centre.
Prof. Ma first extended a warm welcome to Rector Krasae Chanawongse and his delegation for their first visit. Then he briefed them on CUPL including: its history, curriculum, scale and internationalization. Prof. Ma mentioned that the discipline of law of CUPL had prominent advantages, and General Secretary Xi Jinping had affirmed the achievements of CUPL in personnel training, academic research, international exchange and cooperation during his visit to CUPL. Prof. Ma also said that CUPL has been developing new cooperation programs with prestigious universities of countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). CUPL wishes to establish a cooperative relationship with KRU as soon as possible to attract more overseas students and to open a new chapter for cooperation between CUPL and Thai universities.
Rector Krasae Chanawongse appreciated the warm reception and hospitality from CUPL and spoke highly of the academic reputation and international development of CUPL. He said that Thai universities also respond positively to the BRI and hope to take this opportunity to conduct cooperation with CUPL in law, political science, business, management and other disciplines.
Afterwards, the two parties had an exchange of views on basic situation of respective universities and discussed on the collaboration of student exchange, joint training, language training, teacher exchange, academic research and so on. At the meeting, the two sides reached preliminary agreement on signing a framework cooperation agreement.
Prof. Xu Lan, Director of the Office of International Communication and Exchange, Prof. Xin Yanjun, Dean of the School of International Studies, and Associate Prof. Wang Dadi, Assistant Dean of Business School also attended the meeting.
