At the opening ceremony, President Huang Jin, on behalf of CUPL, warmly welcomed representatives of overseas partner universities and colleges who had traveled thousands of miles to Beijing for the campus presentation. President Huang then briefed the delegation on the achievements of CUPL, in particular the progresses on international development. President Huang Jin mentioned that CUPL had been successfully selected as one of the “Double first class disciplines universities” in the “Double First Class University Plan” and was one of the only six law universities in the country to be listed in the national plan. This important step would bring new development opportunities for CUPL. Therefore, CUPL would seize this precious opportunity to expand both the scope and depth of international cooperation with old and new partners in preponderant disciplines and cutting-edge interdisciplinary areas. Meanwhile, CUPL would enhance talent cultivation, scientific research, social service, cultural inheritance and international communication with the prestigious international partners through more platforms like the Campus Presentation.

President Huang said that overseas master scholarship programs had been one of most important channels of high-end international talent cultivation in CUPL. Over the past five years, the number of partner universities and colleges rose from single digit to 52, the number of programs from 10 to 66, and the number of students from dozens to nearly 300. With more and more world’s top universities and colleges becoming our partners, the strength of our partners was also greatly lifted.

Furthermore, the amount of scholarships rose steadily and foreign partner provided tuition waiver plus 20%-70% living allowance, which greatly reduced the financial burden for students. In addition, the scope of scholarship programs was also expanded from law to politics, international relations, public administration, public policy, humanity and so on.

President Huang hoped that CUPL could cooperate more extensively with international partners and build more platforms and bridges in order to help more CUPL students pursue advanced studies of the best programs in first-rate universities and colleges worldwide. Finally, he invited students from partner universities and colleges to come and study in CUPL.

Associate Professor, Yuan Gang, Vice Dean of the Graduate School of CUPL, introduced the current work and future internationalization plan of postgraduate training. After the opening ceremony, President Huang and other participants took a group photo. He also had cordial talks with guests and students in the exhibition area.

Through exhibition and presentations, students who wanted to go abroad for postgraduate or JD programs in 2018 can know more about many foreign institutes of higher learning, including the school condition, program feature, application requirements, review and admission, scholarship, tuition and so on.

As for other 32 absent partners and their postgraduate and JD scholarship programs, as well as the history of these programs, scholarship range, application procedure and other details, staff from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange also patiently took questions from the participants. Alumni from previous years also shared their personal experiences about these programs and leaning abroad.
