The Number of CUPL Students Admitted by SPSP Hits a New Record High

Recently, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) released the admission list of 2016 National Sponsorship Program for Postgraduate (NSPP) dispatched by high-end universities and the State-sponsored Master Graduate Study-abroad Program (SMSP) (collectively known as the State-sponsored Postgraduate Study-aboard Program,“SPSP”). The number of CUPL students admitted into the SPSP program reached a new record high, surpassing the 2016 target.

According to official statistics, 83 CUPL students were admitted into the 2016 SPSP program, an increase of 17 students or 26% compared with last year. Among the 83 students, 45 were enrolled in NSPP (including 28 jointly-supervised Ph.D. candidates and another 17 full-time Ph.D. candidates); and 38 entered into SPSP (including 25 jointly-supervised graduate students and 13 undergraduates pursuing master degrees).

Students admitted into the SPSP program will study for 4 to 48 months overseas in 20 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Iceland, Denmark, Russia, Finland, Netherland, Czech, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovenia, Spain and Ireland.
