On the morning of June 17, 2014, at Xue Yuan Lu Campus, CUPL Vice President Prof. Zhu Yong met with Ms. Erin Golembewski, Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School at University of Maryland (UMD), Dr. David R. Fowler, Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Maryland (OCME) as well as two of their colleagues.

Zhu Yong extended a warm welcome to both new and old faces, and inquired about the recent developments for the 2+1 Dual-Master Program between the Center of Cooperative Innovation for Judicial Civilization (CCIJC) at CUPL and UMD. The program would be structured so that after completing their studies at CUPL for two years and spending another academic year in the States, and providing the candidates pass all examinations, they will be granted a Juris Master degree by CUPL and a Master of Science degree by UMD simultaneously. Zhu Yong pledged that CUPL will give its full support to the program, so that it would gradually evolve into another model platform for cooperation between the two sides.

Golembewski thanked CUPL for its arrangements, and introduced the details of preparations for the program to her host. Golembewki emphasized that the program would not only be targeted at CUPL students, but would also be available to American applicants. To date, preparations have been progressing smoothly, attracting the attention of many eligible students. She estimated that the program would enroll its first students in 2015.
