On the afternoon of April 21, 2014, Vice President Zhu Yong met with Prof. Irina Viktorovna Shishko, Dean of the Law Institute at Siberian Federal University (SibFU), Russia, and Prof. Irina Dmitrievna Mishina.
Prof. Irina V. Shishko stated that this visit to CUPL, entrusted by the Rector of SibFU, was intended to explore collaborative possibilities in areas of common interest, and SibFU was willing to carry out exchange and cooperation programs with CUPL in various disciplines, such as jurisprudence, political science, business studies, sociology and linguistics, and so forth. In addition, SibFU and CUPL faculty members already worked together in the fields of lecturing, conducting scientific research and holding academic seminars. They hoped that the existing cooperation between two sides could be further extended to the area of student exchange.
Zhu Yong indicated that the two sides, given the positive results of their collaboration to date, could launch certain projects like exchange of students, and have summer school programs. Meanwhile, on the basis of our teamwork on non-academic education, the two parties could further explore the possibility for cooperation on the programs of curricula education. The aim of that proposal is to strengthen the cultivation of talented individuals, and to better boost the friendly cooperation between China and Russia.
Finally, the two partners signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on future cooperation.
