Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing (TwC) Group Appointed Adjunct Professor of CUPL School of Humanities

On the afternoon of September 25, 2013, the ceremony for the appointment of Mr. Scott Charney as an adjunct professor of CUPL School of Humanities, which was also the No.10 serial seminar focusing on the Rule of Law and Culture, was held at Xueyuan Lu Campus.

Professor Wen Bing, Dean of CUPL School of Humanities, awarded the adjunct professor appointment letter to Mr. Scott Charney. Soon afterwards, Mr. Scott made a keynote speech titled “Cyber security: Managing Complexity and Building Trust in a Changing World”. He retraced the history of computer network development, and emphasized the importance of network security and the necessity of legal regulation from the two aspects of his personal experience and the reality of soaring network crime.

In the end, there was an animated discussion between the speaker and his audience on how to consider “Snowden event” from the perspective of network security, the security of cloud storage, how to better apply law to solve computer crime, and so on.
