
From August 10 to 13, 2013, the 108th Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association (ASA) was held in the US in New York City . CUPL 2010 undergraduate student Yang Qiusi, majoring in English, delivered a subject report at its individual session concerning Asian issues. She submitted a paper titled “Expansion of Higher Education and College Graduates’ Anxiety over Employment in Urban China” to the meeting, which was included in the conference proceeding.
The ASA, founded in 1905, currently is the largest association of sociologists in the world. The theme of this annual meeting was “Interrogating Inequality – Linking Micro and Macro”. Nearly five thousand students, professors and scholars from over one hundred countries shared their research achievements pertaining to over six hundred topics.
