On the morning of September 9, 2013, at the Xueyuan Lu Campus, Vice President Zhu Yong met with Dr. David Joyner, Executive Dean of Bangor University Confucius Institute.
Zhu Yong said he is delighted to note the achievements of the Confucius Institute at Bangor University in popularizing Chinese language and culture. Zhu Yong acknowledged the joint efforts from the Sino-foreign Co-Directors, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Joyner for the great efforts he has made for the development of Confucius Institute and stated that he hoped the two sides could further strengthen their cooperation and exchanges in the future.
Soon after, the two sides conducted in-depth talks on specific matters to encourage that cooperation and exchanges, such as the 2013 Council of the Confucius Institute, the Legal Forum, the Joint Training Project, plans for the exchange of teachers and students, as well as plans for submission and receipt of applications for the approval of research projects, and so forth.
