A Delegation Headed by New Zealand MP Huo Jianqiang Visits CUPL

On the morning of April 11, 2013, at Xueyuan Lu Campus, Vice President Ma Huaide met with Mr. Huo Jianqiang (Raymond Huo), the member of New Zealand Parliament, and conferred upon him CUPL's certificate of visiting professor. Mr. Huo was accompanied by Neil Quigley, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Victoria University of Wellington, and 13 other delegates.

On behalf of CUPL, Vice President Ma extended a warm welcome to Mr. Huo and expressed congratulations to him for his great achievement in New Zealand. In the name of CUPL, he also extended his gratitude to all of Mr. Huo's cooperative partners and New Zealand colleagues for their continual support, care and help to Mr. Huo. Meanwhile, he officially expressed his thanks for the long and friendly cooperation between Victoria University of Wellington and CUPL, and expressed his hoped that the two universities could further enriching the contents of the exchange and expanding its fields of cooperation.

In his subsequent acknowledgement speech, Mr. Huo said he is grateful for the excellent education he received at CUPL, and expressed his gratitude to teachers who have given advice to him in his path to growth. He also said that he would make greater contribution to the exchange between New Zealand Universities and CUPL in the future.

After the meeting, Vice President Ma conferred CUPL's certificate of visiting professor on Mr. Huo. On behalf of Mr. Huo's Alma Mater, curator Shi Jianzhong accepted the books presented by Mr. Huo.

Before the meeting, Mr. Huo Jianqiang gave a lecture titled "Experiencing Four Oversea Jobs—A CUPL Graduate Being a Lawyer, Journalist, Poet, and Parliament Member in New Zealand" for our students.
