The 2022 Joint Meeting of Chairmen and Secretaries-General of CUPL Alumni Branches Successfully Held

On March 19, China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) successfully held the 2022 Joint Meeting of Presidents and Secretaries-General of Alumni Branch Associations. Feng Shiyong, Vice President of CUPL and President of CUPL Alumni Association, attended the meeting. Lu Shaohua, Director of CUPL Alumni Office, Li Shuguang, President of the Beijing Branch of CUPL Alumni Association, and representatives of other alumni branches attended the meeting offline. A total of 128 presidents and secretaries-general from 49 alumni branches of CUPL around the world attended the meeting online, including provincial branches, college branches, grade branches, industry branches, law firm branches, as well as country branches in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea. Representatives of CUPL directors, well-known law firm partners as well as outstanding alumni representatives who had made significant contributions to the university over the past two years also attended the meeting online. Li Huan, Deputy Director of the Alumni Office, presided over the meeting.

At the meeting, Lu Shaohua presented the 2021 annual work report and the 2022 program of work of the CUPL Alumni Association. He then introduced the work of the CUPL General Alumni Association in 2020-2021. He expressed his appreciation for the online forums for international cooperation held by overseas branches and other alumni activities held by domestic branches. He also proposed work plans for CUPL's 70th birthday, IT services, an alumni lifelong learning program, CUPL-local government cooperation, and rural revitalization  among others.

Li Shuguang read out the proposal on behalf of 36 alumni branches around the world. He hoped that all CUPL alumni would work together and actively participate in CUPL's 70th birthday to promote the university's development.

Subsequently, alumni branches of Shenzhen, Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Hunan, financial sector, School of Civil and Commercial Law, shared their work experiences.

Feng Shiyong makes a speech

Feng Shiyong laid out plans for alumni work in 2022 and introduced the preparations for CUPL's 70th birthday. He hoped that CUPL alumni associations could actively deliver the following tasks. First, CUPL's 70th birthday and a grand ceremony to be held for it on May 16. Second, deliver on the work plan to serve CUPL, all the alumni, and the country. Third, keep innovating and exploring unique features. Fourth, build a platform to improve the work modality and online system. Fifth, be proactive and seize opportunities. Sixth, find development opportunities, adapt to the new situations in the new era, and bring all our alumni together.

This meeting looked back at the work of CUPL alumni associations in the past and set a clear direction for the future. All CUPLers will take practical actions to celebrate CUPL's 70th birthday and to prepare for the Party's 20th National Congress.
