Ever since the beginning of the new century, CUPL has established its goal of operating mode as “open, international, diverse and innovative” and its orientation of undergraduate intellect training as “practical, versatile, innovative and international”. Cultivating undergraduate students in an international way has hence become the priority of undergraduate teaching.
International intellects are the ones who adapt themselves to global and national needs for social and economic development, equipped with cross-cultural qualities in vision, knowledge structure, academic expertise as well as communicative skills. To cultivate such kind of intellects, we are, on the one hand, integrating and utilizing the existing Chinese-foreign joint training resources of our university; and on the other, persistently exploring new channels and developing better ways of international cooperation, so that, within the shortest possible time, a deck of mature international mode of training would be available for all students of CUPL to gradually develop into the kind of new-century intellects with superb international qualities.
CUPL Summer School is an important measure we take to achieve this goal.
