Speaker: Prof. Rob Merkin QC

Distinguished Professor of the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), expert of the College of Comparative Law’s Global Excellent Law Expert Workshop; Lloyd's Professor of Commercial Law & Emeritus Professor of the University of Exeter; Co-editor of Law of Insurance in New Zealand and Sutton’s Insurance Law in Australia; Editor of the Journal of Business Law, the Lloyd’s Law Reports, Arbitration Law Monthly and Insurance Law Monthly; visiting professor at Sydney University and Auckland University. He is also on the panels of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association.

Prof. Merkin’s academic interests are in all areas of insurance and reinsurance law, and arbitration law, and his works books and articles are regularly cited as authoritative by courts throughout the common law world.
