On October 14, 2025, the 12th CUPL Study Abroad Fair for 2026/2027 Scholarship Master Programs was successfully held at both the Haidian and Changping campuses. Vice President Lu Chunlong attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. The fair attracted representatives from 21 universities and institutions across 10 countries and regions, featuring prestigious institutions such as Georgetown University (USA), the University of Sydney (Australia), and National University of Singapore. Nearly 600 undergraduate and graduate students attended the fair for consultations and exchanges.
In his speech, Lu Chunlong highlighted the CUPL Study Abroad Master’s Scholarship as a core platform for CUPL’s international talent cultivation. He reported that through years of development, the program has developed a robust partnership network comprising 60 partner institutions and offering 72 cooperative projects. Scholarship offerings range from 10% tuition waivers to full scholarships with living expense subsidies. The cooperation fields continue to expand, forming a multi-dimensional and broad-based framework for international talent cultivation. The program’s influence has grown steadily both domestically and internationally, earning widespread recognition from students, faculty, and partner institutions.
He stressed that the fair serves as a vital link in advancing CUPL’s international cooperation. It not only provides a a platform for mutual selection for students and overseas universities, but also lays a solid foundation for deepening international collaborations and implementing projects. Lu encouraged students to make the most of this opportunity, urging them to present themselves effectively while serving as“ambassadors” for CUPL.
Sarah L. Bosha, Interim Director of the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University, spoke as a representative of the international partner institutions. Drawing on her own cross-border educational experiences, she highlighted how international study expands academic perspectives and strengthens cross-cultural competencies. She advised students to make full use of the high-quality platforms and resources provided by CUPL to confidently embark on their own paths toward further studies abroad.
This year’s fair saw an expansion in participating overseas institutions. In addition to strong attendance from long-term strategic partners such as Washington University in St. Louis (USA), the University of Southern California (USA), the University of Leeds (UK), and Waseda University (Japan), the event welcomed first-time representatives from institutions including the University of Glasgow (UK) and the University of New South Wales (Australia), offering CUPL students more diverse options for further studies abroad.
During the fair, representatives from overseas universities gave a comprehensive overview of their master’s programs, highlighting disciplinary advantages, curriculum structure, career prospects for graduates, scholarship quotas with eligibility criteria, and language proficiency standards. They also fielded questions on popular topics including the feasibility of cross-disciplinary applications and future career prospects. The event fostered a lively and interactive atmosphere.
To better address students’ queries, dedicated consultation booths were set up where staff from CUPL’s Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and program coordinators offered one-on-one consultations on the university’s application process, document submission guidelines, and key deadlines, helping students navigate the application process effectively.
