In the afternoon of November 28, China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) held an online signing ceremony with the University of Sharjah at the Haidian campus. President Ma Huaide, on behalf of CUPL, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hamid MK Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, officially establishing a partnership. The signing ceremony was presided over by Lu Chunlong, Vice President of CUPL. Attendees of the University of Sharjah included Prof. Yousef Haik, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, and Esam Agamy, Vice Chancellor for Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation, among others.

President Ma Huaide introduced CUPL’s history, disciplines, international legal talent cultivation, and international exchanges and cooperation. He said that the establishment of partnership between CUPL and University of Sharjah signifies a deepening and closer cooperation and exchanges between the two universities. He looks forward to both universities fully leveraging their research strengths and resource advantages, further encouraging mutual visits of faculty and students, engaging in collaborative research, and contributing to cultural exchanges between China and the United Arab Emirates.
Chancellor Naimiy introduced the academic strengths of the University of Sharjah in the fields of law and political science. He highly praised the prominent position of CUPL in humanities and social sciences, particularly in law. He expressed his confidence that as one of the top universities in the UAE, the University of Sharjah will develop more practical collaborations in academic research and student cultivation through a strong partnership with CUPL in the future.

Subsequently, the presidents of the two sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Cooperation between CUPL and the University of Sharjah.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Abdelaziz Soufyane, Director of the International Relations Office of the University of Sharjah, Mohamed Adel Serhani, Deputy Director of the International Relations Office of the University of Sharjah, Li Juqian, Director of Office of the International Cooperation Department of CUPL, Liu Li, Vice Dean of the School of International Law, and Tang Yan, Deputy Director of Office of the International Cooperation Department of CUPL.
