CUPL Holds 2022-2023 “CUPL Role Models” Award Ceremony

On December 5, 2023, the 2022-2023 “CUPL Role Models” Award Ceremony was held at the Changping Campus of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). The event was attended by CUPL President Ma Huaide, Vice President Li Xiuyun, Deputy Director General Zhu Lei, Cadre and Personnel Department of the National Immigration Administration, Che Yongjun, Standing Committee Member of the Changping District Party Committee and Political commissar of Armed Forces, Changping District, Huang Ruiyu, Vice Chair of the University Council, Wu Muren, Deputy Head of Organization Department, Ke'erqin zuoyi zhongqi, Tongliao, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Mu Chechang, Managing Partner of Hylands Law Firm, Fu Wenjuan, Partner of Hylands Law Firm, Zhong Zhong, Deputy General Manager of Beijing Fund Town Holding Co. Ltd., Li Xin, Secretary General of Public Welfare Foundation of Beijing Fund Town, and Yang Chenzhuo, Deputy Director of Beijing Fund Town Research Institute. Representatives from various departments, schools, faculty members, counselors, and more than a thousand student representatives also participated in the ceremony.

Ma Huaide, in his speech, commended CUPL students for their outstanding achievements in academic studies, discipline competitions, innovation and entrepreneurship, and volunteer services over the past year. He emphasized the inspirational power of role models, transforming abstract philosophies into vivid images, guiding the way forward, and providing strength and motivation for advancement.

President Ma summarized the excellent qualities of CUPL role models and offered several hopes for the students. First, he emphasized the importance of tenacity, urging students to persevere in their pursuits with unwavering determination. Second, he encouraged students to face difficulties with courage and determination, pushing forward even harder when challenges arise. Third, he highlighted the importance of compassion and dedication, urging students to actively engage in public welfare activities. Four, he stressed the significance of solidarity, encouraging students to support and learn from each other, fostering a sense of solidarity and collective strength.

President Ma concluded his speech by encouraging the recognized students to continue their exemplary efforts and urging other students to emulate their achievements, striving for excellence.

Huang Ruiyu, Vice Chair of the University Council, CUPL, announced the list of winners for the academic year 2022-2023, recognizing scholarship recipients, merit students, outstanding student leaders, and exemplary class collectives. Huang called on students to learn from the models, contribute to the university's positive academic and cultural atmosphere, and make their own contributions to the development of CUPL's spirit and ethos.

President Ma Huaide presented awards to the thirteen recipients of the Presidential Scholarship and took a group photo with them.

Launched in 2005, the “CUPL Role Models” Award Ceremony is held annually and has now entered its eighteenth year. This year's event, themed “Models, Uniting Forces for Progress”, aimed to inspire students by showcasing the stories of role models and their remarkable achievements, motivating them to emulate these examples and contribute to the university's ongoing success.
