On the afternoon of October 18, Vice President Lu Chunlong met with a delegation of French universities and colleges attending the Sino-French Constitutional Forum in Beijing at the Haidian Campus. The head of the delegation was André Roux, Professor Emeritus at the SciencePoAix and editor-in-chief of French Constitutional Studies. Members of the delegation included Bénédicte Bévière-Boyer, Associate Professor of the Center for Legal Studies at Université Paris 8, Ferdinand Mélin-Soucramanien, Professor of Bordeaux University, President of the Council of the National School of Public Service, and President of the French Overseas Territory Law Society, Mathieu Disan, Professor of the Law School at Université Paris 1, and Thierry Lambert, Professor Emeritus of the Law School at Aix-Marseille University and Director of the International Institute of Tax Sciences (2iSF). The delegation was accompanied by Prof. Wan Shuchun, Deputy Director of International Exchange Department of Shanghai Customs College. Li Juqian, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department, presided over the meeting.

In his welcoming address, Vice President Lu Chunlong introduced CUPL's history, academic disciplines, distinctive features, and achievements in Sino-French academic exchanges. He emphasized the importance of close cooperation between CUPL and French universities in teaching, research, and personnel exchanges. Vice President Lu expressed hope that the delegation would support substantial cooperation and contribute to the broader platform for mutual learning between China and France in the field of law.

André Roux, representing the French delegation, conveyed gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the delegation members. He praised China's efforts to deepen academic cooperation, expand international exchanges, and enhance openness in universities. André Roux expressed Science Po Aix's willingness to align with CUPL, establish partnerships, and facilitate substantial cooperation. Other members of the delegation also provided detailed reviews of their respective universities' collaborations with CUPL and proposed concrete suggestions for future cooperation.
Ferdinand Mélin-Soucramanien made a detailed review of the cooperation between the University of Bordeaux and CUPL. He also introduced the latest international enrollment program of the University of Bordeaux, hoping to promote greater personnel exchanges between the two universities through academic exchange.
Mathieu Disant expressed his joy at the offline convening of the Sino-French Constitutional Forum. He highly commended the collaboration between Université Paris 1 and CUPL and expressed his eagerness to actively promote further cooperation between CUPL and additional scientific research institutions in France and the European Union.
Bénédicte Bévière-Boyer provided insights into Université Paris 8, renowned as the "World School of Paris," emphasizing its commitment to openness and innovation in international collaboration. He expressed the hope that the existing friendly academic exchanges between the two universities would deepen, anticipating exploration of more cutting-edge cooperation models in the context of global digitization.
Thierry Lambert positively acknowledged the collaborative foundation between Aix-Marseille University and CUPL. He outlined French initiatives in constructing internationalized courses and attracting Chinese students. Lambert also proposed specific recommendations for further deepening cooperation between the two universities, particularly in the realm of talent cultivation.

Following the introductory remarks, the participants engaged in detailed discussions on the forms of future cooperation, including teaching, research, and personnel exchanges. They expressed mutual intentions to promote new or renewed cooperation agreements, finalize substantial cooperation projects, and deepen collaboration in various professional fields.
Jiao Hongchang, Professor at the Institute of Constitutional Law of Law School of CUPL, Counselor at the Counselor's Office of the State Council, along with heads of relevant colleges and departments, also attended the meeting.
