On April 23, The First Seminar on the Establishment and Development of the Supervision Law Discipline, sponsored by the Research Center for State Supervision and Anti-Corruption of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and organized by the School of Law-based Government (SLBG) of CUPL, was held successfully in Beijing. More than 40 experts and scholars from over 20 academic institutes and universities attended the meeting. This seminar was part of the academic series celebrating the 70th birthday of CUPL. It was also the first event to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Research Center for State Supervision and Anti-corruption. The theme was the Establishment and Development of the Supervision Law Discipline. The seminar, included the opening ceremony, panel and group discussions, and the closing ceremony. It was held in a mixed format both online and offline. Attendees shared views on the establishment and development of the supervision law discipline.
A total of 45 papers were submitted. Nearly 40 scholars from over 20 universities and research institutes around China that had pioneered the establishment of the supervision law discipline took part in the offline discussions. Moreover, about 50 scholars and practitioners attended the discussions online. The four-hour seminar showed the commitment and expectation of both the academia and legal professions in the development of the supervision law discipline.
