CUPL and ISC Sign a Strategic Cooperation Agreement

In the morning of November 16, the 7th China Internet Rule of Law Conference was held in Beijing. At the conference, China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and the Internet Society of China (ISC) signed a strategic cooperation agreement. CUPL Vice President Feng Shiyong attended the signing ceremony and delivered a speech.

Feng congratulated the successful convening of the conference. He pointed out, with the advent of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial reform, data resources had become a new production factor, information network a new infrastructure, and cyber security a new security challenge. He also said that CUPL had been actively leading the innovation of legal education, legal theory and legal thinking in China. Moreover, with the strategic cooperation agreement, the two sides would contribute their strengths and join hands for a better legal system for cyber space .

Feng stressed that the signing ceremony was of great theoretical and practical significance. First, the two sides would carry out comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in law, to promote influence of the industry, job opportunities, and cultivation of talents in the rule of law; second, the two sides would give full play to their resource advantages and actively explore a diversity of high-end cooperation; and third, the two sides would work together to facilitate the quality development of the national digital economy.

He Guili, Vice Chair of ISC, said that both sides should take the opportunity to build a higher-level platform for innovation through broader and deeper cooperation, to further ensure the sustainable development of the Internet, and to advance the rule of law in cyber space.

Liu Jian, Director of the Domestic Cooperation Office of CUPL, and Pei Wei, Deputy Secretary General of ISC, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the two sides.
