Chinese Art Ensemble of Handicapped Artists Perform “My Dream” at CUPL

On October 20, Chinese Art Ensemble of Handicapped Artists performed “My Dream” for CUPL freshmen in the auditorium of the Changping campus, CUPL. Nearly 1000 teachers and students watched the performance. Hu Ming, CUPL Council Chair, and Li Xiuyun, Vice President had a cordial meeting with Zhang Weixing, Vice Chairman of China Disabled Persons' Federation, Li Defu, Deputy Director General of the Publicity and Culture Department of China Disabled Persons' Federation, and Li Dongmei, head of Chinese Art Ensemble of Handicapped Artists, at the International Exchange Center, CUPL.

Founded in 1987, Chinese Art Ensemble of Handicapped Artists has become an international first-class art performing group after more than three decades of development. It has performed twice at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala and has participated in the performance of the Pyeongchang Winter Paralympic Games. The Ensemble has been received by more than 100 heads of state and government, praised by the international community as a "Messenger of Beauty and Human Nature", "China’s Signature Ensemble to the World". The Ensemble was also praised by the United Nations as "UNESCO's Artists for Peace" and by the Party and State leaders as a "Cultural Messenger of the Great Motherland."

After the performance, more than 300 audiences members spontaneously went to the backstage of the auditorium to bid a fond farewell to the members of the ensemble. In the cold autumn wind, the cordial interaction between teachers, students and artists filled everyone's heart with enthusiasm and warmth.
