CUPL and the Higher People's Court of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Sign the Strategic Cooperation Agreement

On September 28, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation framework agreement between China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and the Higher People's Court of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (hereinafter referred to as the Xinjiang Higher Court) was held in the Xinjiang Higher Court. Prof. Chang Baoguo, Vice President of CUPL and Luo Yanlin, Director of the Political Department of Xinjiang Higher Court, signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties. They also jointly unveiled the Legal Education Practice Base of the Higher People's Court of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and China University of Political Science and Law and the National Legal Education Cooperation Base for Government Officials. The signing ceremony was moderated by Dong Shihong, Vice President of Xinjiang Higher Court.

According to the Agreement, CUPL will cooperate with the Xinjiang Higher Court in the following aspects. First, CUPL will provide regular training programmes for judges and bailiffs from Xinjiang, covering legal practices, political education, the national bar exam, etc. Second, as Legal Education Practice Base, courts in Xinjiang will receive outstanding students from CUPL to be involved in social practice every year. CUPL will also send leading professors and scholars to exchange views with and conduct researches in courts in Xinjiang, such as researches on typical and difficult cases and in particular cases involving the laws of countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. Third, CUPL will invite judges from courts in Xinjiang to serve as professional supervisors in the teaching and education of CUPL.
