On June 25, the Symposium on Cultural Inheritance and Innovation & Exchange and Mutual Appreciation of Civilizations, sponsored by the International Confucian Association (ICA) and organized by China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), was held in Beijing. The symposium was held to enhance the international influence of social organizations. Prior to the symposium, the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation between ICA and CUPL was held. Liu Yandong, President of ICA, attended both of the symposiums and the signing ceremonies.
At the symposium, 12 experts and scholars from prominent universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, and CUPL, made speeches and exchanged ideas. The scholars suggested that ICA should be an academic, professional, international and non-governmental organization. It should serve as a bridge for the Chinese culture to go global and should shoulder the responsibility of carrying out research and innovations of the Chinese civilization, of advancing the communication and cooperation between experts and scholars at home and abroad, and of shaping a credible, adorable and admirable image of China.
The symposium was moderated by CUPL Council Chair Hu Ming. CUPL President Ma Huaide, Vice Presidents of ICA Li Cunshan, Li Yan, Zhang Jian, Zhao Yiwu, Wang Nianning and Niu Xiping attended the symposium and the signing ceremony. Jia Deyong, Secretary General of ICA, and Ma Huaide, President of CUPL, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the two parties.
