Published:2020-02-12 | Views:

Dear new students,

First of all, thank you for choosing CUPL and welcome to become a member of the CUPL community. You may have already known that China is experiencing a severe outbreak of pneumonia caused by 2019-nCoV. Currently, Beijing has initiated the First-level public health emergency response. Now it is the top priority to contain the outbreak and prevent the spread of the epidemic.

According to the unified arrangements by China's Ministry of Education and Beijing municipal government, every university has established and strengthened policies to prevent the possibility of the virus spreading on campus.

For the safety and health of all students, we have to inform you with regret that we will:

1. Postpone the starting date of the 2020 spring semester.

The registration date in the Admission Notice issued by CUPL is invalid now. The new resumption date will be announced later according to the progress of epidemic prevention and control.

The notification will be sent to the email address you provided when applying to CUPL or your Wechat. Please follow our latest updates.

And further announcements will also be posted on our official website and official WeChat account as follows.

A) Official website of the school of international education of CUPL: Chinese version: http://sis.cupl.edu.cn/; English version: http://sis.cupl.edu.cn/English/Home.htm

B) Official WeChat account: international_cupl(法大国教信息中心)

Please search “international_cupl” for Official Account or scan the QR code below. Please check the menu item at the bottom of the WeChat account: (重要通知) --> (近期通知).

2. Do NOT arrive in China in advance

For the health and safety of yourselves and others, please DO NOT arrive in China until further notice. For those who arrive at school before further notice, we are sorry but CUPL is not able to process issues such as registration, the extension of visa, etc. And we cannot provide on-campus accommodation either.

3. If you want to change your study schedule

If you want to postpone your study to the fall semester or give up your admission, please contact the School of International Education/Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Students Education Center. (contact information is shown below)

4. Online teaching during the outbreak

All classes of the next semester will be delivered temporally online until the epidemic ends. Please search “学习通” (“xue xi tong” in Pinyin) in the App store or scan the QR code below. We will give you further instructions about it later on.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience brought to you by this sudden and unpredictable epidemic. However, the safety and health of each student are always our primary concern. We appreciate your kind understanding, support, and cooperation.

For follow-up arrangements, please check your email regularly and keep yourself updated on our latest notifications. Should you have any questions or problems, please contact ico@cupl.edu.cn or chineseprogram@cupl.edu.cn.

We hope the epidemic would end soon so that you could join us on our beautiful campus.
