On May 12, the “One Heart and One Action - Houda Cup”—brisk walking event was launched to celebrate the 67th anniversary of CUPL. The event was organized by the Alumni Office and the Alumni Association of CUPL (AACUPL). Unlike previous years, the scale of this year's walking event was unprecedented. The branch associations across the globe actively responded to the call of AACUPL. Via video call and other means, and at the command of the President of CUPL, members of 27 alumni branches in Heilongjiang, Zhejiang, Ningxia, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Yunnan, Jilin, Anhui, Shanxi, Henan, Jiangxi, Hebei, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Chongqing, Fujian, Guangxi, Sichuan, Taiwan, Gansu, Qinghai, Australia-New Zealand, South Korea and United States set out at the same with members of AACUPL and walked together to celebrate the 67th anniversary of CUPL. Beijing Houda Xuancheng Educational Technology Co., Ltd. exclusively sponsored the brisk walking activity in Beijing.
At about 9 a.m., President Huang Jin expressed congratulations on the success of the activity and extended warm welcome and sincere gratitude on behalf of CUPL to the alumni. He said, the theme of the activity was “One Heart, One Action, Pleasant Walking and Bless to CUPL”. As one of the series activities to celebrate the anniversary, brisk walking has been held for 5 years. But this time, it was innovative. 27 alumni branches participated in this activity with unprecedented grandeur, cohering all alumni to care for and support CUPL and to share the joy of the school anniversary. President Huang also called on alumni to measure the glorious course of 67 years of our alma mater with vigorous steps, and wish CUPL a brighter and more brilliant future!
In the dense shade of the Olympic Forest Park, alumni flocked together, laughed and marched forward, showing the healthy and energetic spirit of CUPLers. After more than an hour of walking, alumni reached the finishing line one after another and took group pictures at the finishing line.
The brisk walking activity in 27 alumni branches also achieved great success. In particular, some alumni branches made innovations in terms of content and form. For example, Vice President Jiang Zhijun of Taiwan Alumni Association, at the age of 69, boarded the highest peak in Taiwan in two days to send his congratulations to CUPL. Jiangsu alumni association called on Nanjing, Suzhou, Taizhou and other 13 cities to cooperate with AACUPL to carry out the activity. Alumni associations in the Untied States and South Korea will also hold events on May 18 and May 24 to engage more CUPLers to celebrate the birthday of CUPL and to walk for health.
Led by AACUPL, each year during the school anniversary, alumni branches in all over the country hold brisk walking activity, advocating that alumni should extend their best wishes to CUPL in a green and healthy way. This year, the scope of the brisk walking activity was expanded to the whole world to allow CUPLers around the world to participate in it. Each branch has been actively exploring how to innovate the form and enrich the content of alumni activities so as to create a good atmosphere for the anniversary of CUPL.
