Council Chair Hu Ming Meets with China Legal Service (H.K.) Ltd. Delegation

In the morning of August 23, Prof. Hu Ming, Council Chair of CUPL, met with Guo Jian’an, President and General Manager of China Legal Service (H.K.) Ltd., and his delegation. Lv Anqing, Director of the Beijing Office of China Legal Service (H.K.) Ltd., Guan Yongzeng, Deputy Director of the Beijing Office, Liu Dawei, Council Chair of the Law School of CUPL, Wang Fuping, Deputy Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs of CUPL, Feng Xia, Professor of the School of International Law, Zhu Zheng, Teacher of the Law School and Zhang Yuchen, Program Officer of Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs also attended the meeting.

Prof. Hu first welcomed President Guo Jian’an and his delegation on behalf of CUPL. He recalled the experience of visiting China Legal Service (H.K.) Ltd. and the signing of the framework agreement. He spoke highly of the cooperation between the two sides. Prof. Hu said that the functions of colleges are talent cultivation, scientific research, social service, cultural inheritance and innovation. Since its establishment, CUPL had took part in almost all legislative activities in China. CUPL has been committed to perform the function of social service, making many positive contributions to the country and actively integrating into the national development strategy. He hoped that the two sides could enhance cooperation in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, to achieve the goal of common development and win-win outcome, as well as to make real contribution to the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

President Guo Jian’an acknowledged CUPL’s achievements, such as its leading academic position and talent training. He also expressed confidence in the cooperation prospect between the two sides. Mr. Guo hoped that the two sides would be smooth and successful, so as to generate quality advices for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The two sides also exchanged opinions on cooperation background and plan.

After the meeting, President Guo Jian’an and Liu Dawei signed the cooperation agreement of a legal research project concerning the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
