Prof. Jiao Jie of CUPL received Honorary Medal of the University of Montreal
In recent years, Jiao Jie, faculty of the School of International Law of CUPL, has devoted wisdom and efforts to promoting the cooperation between world’s top universities with CUPL.
In 2002, he worked closely with UM to foster the Summer-Term Program on Chinese Law between UM and CUPL. So far, this program has attracted more than 1,000 Canadian students to CUPL to study the Chinese legal system. It has been supported by the project funding of China Scholarship Council.
In 2006, Jiao helped CUPL to establish the Summer Program on North American Common Law. Through this program, 40 CUPL students go to UM for a three-week program each year.
In addition, Jiao has facilitated various cooperation and exchanges programs between CUPL and UM, such as master programs, Ph.D. programs and other student exchange programs. He has also facilitated professors and young faculty of CUPL and UM to teach or give lectures in each other’s campuses.
As Director of the Sino-Canadian Law Research Center, Jiao has organized several forums and seminars on Sino-Canadian law and has co-authored many academic monographs and research papers, promoting substantive academic cooperation and exchanges among universities.
