On the afternoon of March 20, 2017, CUPL Vice President, Prof. Chang Baoguo, met Prof. Joel Saavedra, Vice President of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso(PUCV), and His Party at the Haidian Campus. Dr. Edmundo Bustos Azócar, Media and Culture Attaché of the Embassy of Chile in the People's Republic of China, accompanied the VP on this visit.
Vice-President Chang Baoguo extended a warm welcome to Saavedra and his party, and briefed them on CUPL including its history, the number of students and teachers, the development of disciplines, international exchange, and graduates and alumni. Chang Baoguo said that CUPL offered a wide range of law degree programs and participated extensively in legislative activities. CUPL graduates have been employed in judiciary departments and public institutions of various regions and have received favorable reviews from their employers. CUPL has always attached great importance to international cooperation, especially in the cultivation of talents in Spanish jurisprudence. CUPL has also prioritized its cooperation with Chile and other Latin America countries. The visit of the PUCV delegation will further strengthen cooperation between CUPL and colleges and universities in Chile and Latin America.
Prof. Joel Saavedra thanked CUPL for the warm reception, and also thanked Dr. Edmundo Bustos Azócar for his contributions in facilitating the cooperation between CUPL and PUCV. He introduced detailed information about PUCV, such as the number of students and programs for teachers and international cooperation.With the Dean of Law School in PUCV, they expressed hope to launch cooperation programs with CUPL, such as Spanish and English student exchanges, staff exchanges, cooperative scientific research and joint publications, and etc.
